Cravo tapestry
Collaboration with Omarcity during an artist residency in Portugal.
Year · 2024
Technique · Tapestry
This tapestry was created during a residency Ana María did in Portugal with Omarcity, who is making the edition of the tapestry. The production is carried out in collaboration with the Belgian company Bomat. Cravo is a piece that plays with the traditional boundaries of a tapestry; it has an organic shape and waves. It doesn’t feel static; it’s neither a rectangle nor a square. It has loose ends and feels like a drawing with different saturations of color, achieved through a dying process using the tie-dye technique with the yarns.
